Do you mod your games?

Well if you do. Please beware of something I had no idea about it until today. A YouTuber I follow posted a video that brought this to my attention and it had me looking for more information only to find someone from the SIMS 4 offering this as well. Now what am I talk about, it is called ModGuard I found out about via a video from this Youtuber I follow. He goes by the name of “The Trucking Truth” and I will post his video below so you can hear it from him. He’s been a strong supporter of modders over in American Truck Simulator but recently he learned the truth about ModGuard. I did go on a google search, and it’s being peddled off as a mod to protect against hackers, well sadly that is not the case. It’s a mod to cause damage not just to your system, but also to yourself by stealing all your information from bank, to all your private information. Only way to really protect yourself online is be smart about it. I don’t spend money for mods because I just don’t get that, but those mods in ATS, ETS2 while I understand that they do charge for some mods, only because of the time it does take to create them for the trucks, trailers and so forth. Same with the SIMS 4 because of how much time it does take to create those mods for everyone to use. I just hope you’re smart about what you are downloading. So it’s just a matter of time before it goes onto other games now. Whether it be for graphical improvements, altering your entire game completely because it’s just getting bad for the gamers now too. Even if you don’t pay for your mods, just be careful with what you’re doing to your game.

I do play with mods in 7 Days to Die, and I hope the modders there are smart about this as well so that we don’t get the headaches in that game as well. I really love playing with my mods there, which I will have to update my list of mods for Version 1.0 in 7 days to die. So this post is short, and it does serve as a Public Service Announcement to keep yourself, your PC, and your gaming time safe. So if you’d like to watch the video it’s shown below to help explain what this guy and this malware is about in some sense, and why he’s against it now.

Another thing you need to watch out for as well is called Modfy, and he explains in his video that it can lock to your hardware. So please watch the video, and go out and do your research for the mods you are installing on your machine. I’ve listed both of his videos, and I hope you’ll give them a watch to find out what exactly he’s talking about especially for American Truck Simulator, and probably Euro Truck Simulator 2
