Not a new theme, but a change #Blaugust2024

Why the new layout and color scheme?

I have been debating this for a good while now on if I wanted to change anything on this blog, and finally this morning I decided to take a deep dive into the Parabola theme that I installed when I was redoing this sub-domain. I have used this theme, and many others in the past. You can find them here at their main website Cryout Creations. They do have some paid ones, but I always use the free ones, and this seems to the only theme creator I have found that still updates their free themes without being nasty about it. Now you can even find them here as well. So there are many ways to find them and therefore I use them for my sites because of multiple reasons. First being the affordability of the theme, second being the ease of installing them through the typically installer of WordPress, and the most important feature for me, is because I love how they are easy to configure of how I want. I didn’t always use the magazine layout because I didn’t know how many would like that kind of style, and I also decided to select a new color scheme that they have configured already in the theme, and then I took the time to configure it out even more to my liking, so I’m hoping this kind of change is welcomed for those that enjoy the lighter backgrounds. I have my entire system set to a dark theme for my own personal reasons, and I have finally sat down and realized not everyone likes the darker themes, so I decided to make the whole thing a little lighter, still keep my cherished “green” kind of text for links, and site name. Course I may have to remove the background so that I can get Disqus to be shown a little better. I’ll play around with it later.  I decided to try a different variation of this theme to give it a try, and just to do something new for myself. It may be the same with me removing two key plug-ins since one is no longer working like it use too since the last update on WordPress itself. Those Plug-Ins are Classic Widgets and Classic Editor. It may be time to try my blog pages without those. It’s just an idea I am toying with since there doesn’t seem to be much help from the developers of those plug-ins. When I started blogging I was only worried  about the look of my blog for myself and no one else, but now over the years I’m starting to realize to keep readers and everything, I need to cater to them more so over myself. I only read my posts when I’m replying to comments to make sure I’m getting the right information, or I’m proofreading by using the “Preview” button on posts that I am writing to see how they are looking.

Will I be changing anything else?

That is still up for debate on my mind, especially for my YouTube channel. I am trying to branch out with a lot of other games to give something to everyone , but at times it just feels more like a bore, and no matter how hard I try, sometimes I question myself on why I’m doing this. Then I realize that this is for fun for me. Same with Blogging. I will never ask for money on my videos, or these websites. This is my hobby and I’m quite content on being a content creator that doesn’t do this for a job, but as for a hobby. I don’t know what I’m doing, just being difficult within myself again. Something I’m good at.
