Developers that I am impressed with #Blaugust2024

My most played game on Steam over SWTOR

First up I wanna talk about SCS and their two games I play the most. The first game I will talk about is American Truck Simulator, and that because in the beginning it just felt like we were never going to get any new content. At first we only had California, Nevada, Arizona to drive around in, and it was a huge boring fest for a while, but yet I still enjoyed it. Then in 2017 we got news of New Mexico coming, then it was radio silent until they talked about Oregon in 2018, And we heard about the possibilities of getting new DLC (Content) then in 2019 we got the state of Washington. Later that year we got Utah, and it was silent again about new content again other than some new skins, and other DLC, free trucks of course. Reason it takes them so much time to get these licensed trucks into the game is because they are in contact with the trucking manufactures and requesting permission to add their trucks to the game. So when the game began they only had Kenworth and Peterbilt for the two trucks we could use. I seen a lot of people complaining about that and they don’t realize that they needed permission to add these trucks to the game from the manufactures because if not it would be stealing. We didn’t know when the next state DLC would drop then we got hit with Covid-19 and the world as we knew it shut down mostly. It was during that time that they started the work from home and started pulling out DLC after DLC it seems to keep us entertained. It was then they dropped two DLCs within 4-5 months apart. First was the state of Idaho in July and then in November Colorado was released. We were super happy because SCS was finally giving love to their ATS game finally. In 2021 we got Wyoming, and a ton of other DLC all the while they kept giving us events to participate in too. Then we got the International trucks introduced into the game, 2022 was a huge year for them for that we got Western Star trucks, Montana added, Texas. They kept pumping out DLC for ATS with paint packs, new trucks. They continued to pump out DLC to keep us entertained then their biggest truck had a 100 year anniversary Kenworth, so they worked with Kenworth to get the W900 Anniversary truck into the game. We got Oklahoma, Kansas, then a new Kenworth truck, the T680 2022 edition. Now this year we’ve gotten some new DLC , new paints, and in May we got Nebraska. Who knows what state will be next. So far on my steam wish list I have Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas waiting to be released. I believe Arkansas will be the next one.

The 2nd most played game on my steam list

I know for ETS 2 it does take a little bit longer to release content as they do entire countries over the US where it’s states at a time. With ETS 2 they have released “Going East” which has Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Then in 2015 it was “Scandinavia” with Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, in 2016 it was Via la France which was entirely all of France. With 2017 we got Italia which was all of Italy, and some new reworks on the countries. 2018 we got “Beyond the Baltic Sea” which gave the countries Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, with parts of western Russia, and south of Finland. 2019 was got Road to the Black Sea where we got the countries of Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey which also again we had to have a lot more rework down to the countries and the map became bigger. then nothing in 2020 due to them working so hard with ATS content and giving us all things to do while be having to be in lockdown, then in 2021 we got Iberia which gave us the Iberian Peninsula to travel around European countries. So yeah even though ETS did not get as much love as ATS has these past few years it was also because if I am correct they were short on staff, and had a small team work on the maps for each country, and then a small team to work on the states, and it was hard for them to pump twice as much content on both games but they did try their hardest. They were able to get West Balkans released in 2023 where we were able to traverse countries like Bosnia, Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia along with Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Albania and so far we’re waiting for the release of Greece Nordic Horizons, and of course I doubt it will ever be released but they still have “Heart of Russia” listed as a release. With what happened over there with Russia invading the Ukraine back in 2022. So there is that, will it ever be released? Not sure as it’s up in the air still. No official word from SCS itself about the DLC.
